In true social media style, I am sharing the highlights.
But what you don’t see is the exhaustion, frustration, pain, and extreme lows of the founder journey.
As a disabled entrepreneur, adding in the dynamics of chronic pain and illness is also another layer on top of an already hard journey.
This month, as part of the Presidential Leadership Scholars, we had the incredible opportunity to meet Arthur Brooks (@arthurcbrooks).
He blends research in behavioral science and neuroscience with philosophy and wisdom traditions, Arthur co-wrote the book “Build the Life You Want” with Oprah and has spent time learning from the Dalai Lama (!!)
He pointed out that work-life balance does not exist—work is a part of life.
The four habits of happiness he shared are faith, family, friends, and meaningful work.
Like many entrepreneurs, I used to measure my happiness by the wins.
I believed that making a massive impact and creating change were the only times I had permission to be truly happy.
What a mistake that was!
So here is your reminder to find joy in all of the spaces and places, not just the “wins”.
