Kia Pegg Instagram – My first ep aired 12 years ago today and this photo appeared on my memories.
I used to carry this beat up little photo everywhere I went; my rucksack, my school bag, my coat pocket, as a bookmark in my book. As a ten year old who’d felt out of place pretty much everywhere, this photo became tangible proof of belonging. I can remember sitting alone in the library at lunchtime and holding onto this photo so tight, counting down the days until I could go back and feel normal again.
DG ended up being a long and cherished and sometimes rocky journey, but I will never deny the good it did little me and she loved that place with her whole stupid heart.
