Kimrie Lewis Instagram – Last year, I wrote & directed a short film based on my true story— how, in order to make it as a black actress in Hollywood, I had to first take on the role of a white guy. Tomorrow (July 25) this film premieres at @lashortsfest. With no studio funding (and during a pandemic yall!) a group of us came together to make a project that I’m so proud of. In the spirit of independent filmmaking, and with our unions now on strike, this story feels more timely than ever. We hope you can join us tomorrow.
