Laura James Instagram – I rarely share many emotional or intimate feelings/moments here, but for some reason, Ellie turning 6 months really put a lot into perspective for me, and I wanted to share some of my thoughts. I have been writing a lot postpartum, and find that writing and potentially even sharing some of these intimate feelings and moments feels right, for now. I wrote this a week ago when I realized, holy shit, a half a year has come and gone. It almost felt like a “we did it” moment. I’m challenging myself to not delete this after a few days and just lean into the deeeep and also gorg feelings postpartum has given me lolol. Also sorry if now you think I’m annoying and over sharing 🫠🫶🏻 but being a mom is v fun and I love it 🥲
“6 months with you. 6 months of growth. 6 months of learning and unlearning. 6 months of losing myself to then finding a version I didn’t know could exist. 6 months of tired eyes. 6 month of happy tears. 6 months of gummy smiles, giggles, wobbly toes. 6 months of your patience as I learn and grow. 6 months of experiencing a love I didn’t know was possible. 6 months of soft, perfect skin. 6 months of waking up every morning, feeling privileged to do the day again with you. 6 months of squishy legs, belly laughs, tiny hands. 6 months of gazing into each other’s eyes, with our heartbeats synced as one. 6 months of slowing down. 6 months of breastfeeding. 6 months of being incredibly present, yet still witnessing time as a thief. 6 months went by too fast, so I will try again, to somehow slow the next 6 down, because I never want to rush a single moment in this world with you.
