Every year in Ellis Island, New York, the Ellis Island Honor Society awards the Ellis Island Medal of Honor to a number of people. The foundation of this award has been recognized by the American Congress since 1989.
In the past, seven presidents of the United States, as well as important people and personalities who have different ethnic backgrounds and have influenced the American society with their exceptional contributions or their art and achievements, have received this valuable award.
I am very pleased that I, as an Iranian female singer and actress, was chosen by this foundation to receive the 2024 Ellis Award on May 18.
