Maggie Lawson Instagram – When it’s chilly outside, we make chili inside 🌶️✨

A few years ago, my mom made me a scrapbook of all our favorite family recipes. Below, are the directions for my grandpa’s famous turkey chili.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do ❤️

✨INGREDIENTS:
Olive Oil
Tomato Puree
Tomato Paste
Salt
1lb Ground Turkey
1 White Onion
3 cloves of Garlic
1 can crushed tomatoes
1 can Rotel
2 cans of beans (dealer’s choice)

✨GRANDPA’S CHILI POWDER:
1 tsp cinnamon
4 tsp coriander
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp chipotle powder
4 tbsp cumin
1 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp all spice
4 tsp cocoa
1/2 tsp cayenne
2 1/2 tsp oregano

✨DIRECTIONS
-Oil and salt a frying pan on medium heat.
-Dice white onion and add to pan.
-Let the onions brown before adding your turkey and garlic.
-Once the meat has browned, add into a large pot with crushed tomatoes, tomato puree, tomato paste, 1 cup water, 1/4 cup olive oil, a can of Rotel, and 2 cans of your favorite beans (mine are kidney and pinto)
-Season with Grandpa’s Chili Seasoning and stir together
-Let mixture simmer on low heat, stirring occasionally
✨the longer it simmers, the better it tastes✨
-Serve with your favorite garnishes and enjoy!
