Marg Helgenberger Instagram – I’m very saddened to share that the great Paula Weinstein has passed away.
Of all the incredible women I’ve been fortunate enough to have known, Paula Weinstein was the one I revered the most. The fact that Paula became my sister-in-law within a year or two after I moved to L.A., was a blessing I never could have expected, & one in which I’ll forever cherish.
Paula produced some great films, a few with her late husband, Mark Rosenberg; THE FABULOUS BAKER BOYS, FEARLESS, THE PERFECT STORM, ANALYZE THIS, MONSTER-IN LAW, BLOOD DIAMOND, to name a few. She had amazing taste in choosing material, and talent. But more than that, Paula nurtured & encouraged young talent, in particular young women, & people of color.
Paula’s career spanned many decades, & she received Emmy awards for the HBO telefilms TRUMAN, & RECOUNT. She was also an EP on all 94 episodes of the Netflix series GRACE & FRANKIE. In 2013, Paula joined Tribeca Enterprises as EVP & played a pivotal role in building Tribeca Studios.
Paula was also one of the founders of the Hollywood Women’s Political Committee, of which I became a proud member. The group consisted of the smartest, most engaged, & inspiring women I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. AND, over the course of two decades, the HWPC raised millions of dollars for Democratic candidates. Which brings me to the words of Paula’s extraordinary daughter Hannah Rosenberg; “I know my mother would want me to say this: if you’d like to honor her, please stop what you’re doing and turn your attention toward re-electing President Joe Biden and making sure Democrats win down the ballot so we can be sure Democracy survives in America and around the world.”
Rest in Power dearest Paula. | Posted on 30/Mar/2024 02:16:05
