Being raised a Catholic in the Midwest, born the same year as Madonna, as well as living in NYC when she exploded onto the scene, I feel a special kinship towards Ms. Ciccone. I, along with millions of other fans throughout her four decade career, have been captivated by her extraordinary talent, fearlessness, & deep commitment towards several causes, in particular her fight against AIDS. I lost several friends to that horrific disease, including my dear friend & acclaimed costume designer Greg York, whom I met while a student @northwesternu
My manager of 30 years, @nancysandersjoffe joined me last night @thekiaforum for a concert that delivered on every level. We danced, laughed, and cried throughout the performance.
