I am extremely happy and excited to be in New York and to be able to present the @Dior Autumn Winter 2024 collection at the Brooklyn Museum. Ever since my arrival at Dior in 2016, I have had the dream of presenting a collection in this incredible cultural center. The Brooklyn Museum has been my first stop in every trip to New York for the past eight years. This institution immediately recognised the central role of feminist art in the art world to tackle urgent social issues while pioneering new art forms. It is here that I came to see Judy Chicago’s Dinner Party and I first dreamed of collaborating with this incredible artist and pioneer. It is always here that through exhibitions and displays I was able to discover and continue to discover and be inspired by the artists and their works on show. I want to thank the incredible @AnnePasternak for making this place so special and for making this show possible.
Among the side events of the 60th Biennale d’Arte, I’m happy to see Cosmic Garden – an exhibition that is very dear to me, a collaboration between Indian artists Madhvi Parekh, Manu Parekh and @karishmaswali77, promoted by the Chanakya Foundation and curated by @maria_alicata and @ugolinip. Cosmic Garden celebrates the pluralistic beauty of Indian craftsmanship and indigenous artistic traditions.

I couldn’t be happier to be back in New York City for the presentation of the @Dior Fall Winter collection, which will take place at the @BrooklynMuseum. Christian Dior’s ties with the USA hark back to 1948, when he opened a store in New York just one year after inaugurating the Maison in Paris. The term “New Look”, which would define the most iconic silhouette of the Maison to this day, was coined by the editor in chief of Harper’s Bazaar, Carmel Snow, which shows how much the influence of the American fashion world has shaped Dior throughout the years.
In 1966, the French and American flags were combined in a foulard designed by Alexandre Sache for Marc Bohan, highlighting this dialogue which I am happy to celebrate once again.

@Dior and @venetianheritage celebrate the precious founding link between Venice and water with a ball entitled Naumachia, which will feature spectacular aquatic re-enactments of naval battles dating back to the Roman Empire and in vogue at European royal courts in the 17th and 18th centuries.
