Melanie Posner Instagram – A few weeks ago I shared a tiny part of my story. For a while I’ve wanted to open up more because I keep asking myself “what is my purpose in this world.” I always thought it was to just share my art…. while at the same time I felt like I was putting myself in a box. The longer I sit on this question the more I’ve realized it’s much more than that. I have the ability through my lived experiences to showcase to others that anything is possible. A girl who was sent to 7 placements and had 7 stints in juvy isn’t your average success story. A girl who endured every type of abuse and neglect doesn’t always have the strength to open up about it. It’s taken me over 10 years to finally identify with the life I once lived. Now I want to embrace it because I’ve finally accepted who I am. So I think my purpose is to showcase hope…. Not just the things I create.
