Michaela Angela Davis Instagram – Southern Vegatable Situation: 🫘What do y’all call butter beans and what’s lima beans? 🫛 I grew up understanding lima beans are the little green ones, butter beans bigger lighter ones (color of butter 🧈) some of my folk in Sumter call butter beans- limas and limas -butter beans. I’m confused 👉🏼 Also NYT did a piece about cabbage having a “moment” -talmbout how American immigrants have a history with cabbage, kimchi, sauerkraut ect but no mention southern style Black folk have always eaten – I love mine w white potatoes (fresh fatback is a must) lots of black pepper 👉🏼 started my tomato plants next up OKRA!
