I’ve been chosen to receive a Timeless Beauty Award! 😳😮Thank you, @hollywoodbeautyawards for this very flattering and big ego-boosting honor!🥰❤️🥰 As someone who grew up in white suburbia and not feeling like I belonged, always seeing myself inferior to the blond All-American blue eyed beauties in school, in movies, tv and magazines, I was critical of how I looked. I was the short fat-faced Chinese girl, the nerd who loved escapism through sci-fi and in acting. So to learn I was voted for a beauty award with past recipients like Barbara Eden whom I adored in “I Dream of Jeannie” and thought she was so beautiful; to Super hot Ann-Margaret whom I idolized! I also loved that a famous person had a hyphened first & middle name. Past beautiful and talented recipients like @andiemcdowell_ @janeseymour @morganfairchild1 . It’s seriously insane how I’m lumped in with these gorgeous women! I’m very grateful for this confidence boost and hope I show up looking, well, Timeless and Beautiful! I may still harbor many insecurities about my looks, but I’ve learned to find beauty in my Asian features and do appreciate the genetics of Asian skin.
