Misha Highstead Instagram – Instagram is making changes it hopes will lure in TikTok creators!
The Meta-owned app has announced it’s going to “correct” the way its algorithms recommend content to users.
It’s switching from prioritizing already-popular accounts and aggregators to prioritizing ORIGINAL content, and giving “all creators an
equal chance of breaking through”.
That’s similar to how TikTok works – and became so hugely popular!
TikTok is currently facing the threat of a U.S. ban, and Instagram clearly wants to be ready to fill that potential void.
But it’s not alone there! The livestreaming platform Twitch has ALSO released its own TikTok-style short-video feed that will give users a personalized scroll of livestreams AND clips they say will help streamers get discovered, even when they aren’t live.
We’d like to hear what you all think about these changes and if they’ll influence where you post your content going forward.
