Padma Lakshmi Instagram – What an honor to be recognized by my Asian peers with the Gold Legend award. This night felt surreal! What a coup to work with @chef.vijayakumar to serve our home cooking at such a wonderful fancy gala. Rather than the regular meat and potatoes we had idlis and sambar to start, and for the main we served meen moilee with basmati rice. Simple, elegant and so delicious. The curry leaves from the whole dinner were from my stepdad ’s farm @prasads_curry_leaf. Growing up, I wish I had had something like Gold House. I have always felt like I had to translate who I was and explain my culture. And that can sometimes feel lonely. But I don’t feel that anymore, I feel like Gold House has given me the community I’ve always longed for. A special thank you to @cartier and @cinqasept for my gorgeous jewels and dress.
