Parvathy Omanakuttan Instagram – Ayurveda lays great emphasis on sleep and the quality of sleep. Sleep (Nidra) is one of the three main pillars of health along with Food (Aahaara) and Energy Management (Brahmacharya).
It is when we sleep well that our body heals and we ought to do our best to give our bodies the only rest it gets to repair itself.
My routine includes a variety of things to relax and prep my body and mind to a restful deep sleep.
Check PART 1 in my previous reel ❤️
My second part includes:
1. COMBING my hair with a wooden comb helps reduce friction and static, stimulates the scalp, improves circulation in the scalp
2. UTTANAPADASANA : Improves blood circulation from the feet to the heart , relieves stress from the legs, alleviates pressure from the lower back, helps in stretching the hamstrings and glutes
3. SUPTA MATSYEDRIYASANA Lengthens the spine, improves spinal flexibility, relieves stiffness from hip, lower back and spine, aids digestion, improves posture, relaxes the body.
4. BRAIDING HAIR LOOSELY : Protects from frizziness, reduces split ends.
5. ANU THAILAM :- If there is one thing that I can vouch for when it comes to curing nasal congestion and blocked nose (coming from someone who has a deviated septum and severe sinus) it is Anu Thailam, and using 1 drop in each nostril every night helps to keep phlegm away.
6. SILK EYE MASK : Improves sleep quality and REM sleep
7. SILK PILLOW COVER : Keeps hair and skin hydrated, prevents acne, regulates the body temperature.
AVOID IF THE EXERCISES :
– You are pregnant or menstruating
– Suffering from severe joint pain, hip pain, hip displacement etc.
– Those on blood thinners, insulin medicines
***BASICALLY ITS BEST TO CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR WHETHER THIS EXERCISE IS DOABLE
