When I was a theatre obsessed pre-teen I read all of Christopher Durang’s plays and proclaimed him my FAVORITE PLAYWRIGHT. I felt seen is his quirky darkness and cutting satire that made me laugh-cry at the absurdity and still felt like a dagger in the chest.
I remember watching my aunt @tayashbrook perform Laughing Wild in a tiny NoHo blackbox and how much fun she was having. Doing a Durang play went right on my bucket list.
If you told me a little over 10 years later I’d get to not only meet him, but interact and learn from him as a student, I don’t know if I would’ve believed it.
