Sharon Lawrence Instagram – Our #Mothers are the first people to model love for us. And I was blessed with the best. Earlyn Reeves Sams Lawrence’s love is pure and without judgement, and when I tell you that anyone who has crossed her path feels it, I’m not exaggerating. She’s a natural nurturer – faith-filled and dedicated, respectful of her ancestors and encouraging of her lineage.
In the six decades I’ve know her, she’s consistently held this energy for her family friends and students, those she has mentored and those she has just met, her fellow teachers, travelers and congregants. She received that kind of love from her parents and brother and carried it though to her cousins, nieces, nephews, her husband in, daughter, son, in-laws, grandsons and now as a Great Grandmother.
I am grateful for the families she was born and married into and the one she created with my Dad and for the inspiration of her joy in being a mother.
I’m grateful for her model of a committed marriage and her management of their health and well being.
We are blessed with how she has supported us all through challenging and happy times, especially me.
