#BeAParentYaar is a chat series that takes the idea of what we tried to do with @beamanyaar forward. Be A Man, Yaar was about starting conversations about positive masculinity, this one is about starting conversations about positive parenting.
In all the Yuvaa roadshows where I have travelled to every part of India to meet students, I kept hearing from young India’s how difficult it is for them to speak to their parents honestly and authentically. Most Gen Zs feel lonely but aren’t able to find safe spaces at their home.
And when I go to events and conferences, there are innumerable parents who tell me that they wish they could talk to their children more.
We currently live in a society that’s unable to have conversations with each other. There is a distinct lack of empathy and warmth in the world around us.. and I suspect a lot of that is because there’s not enough warmth in our own worlds. But all we need to do is to.. start a conversation. Not just to talk, but also to listen ❤️
This series is to encourage conversation between parents and children, and to show how cathartic that can be. I hope you all feel the same.. and are inspired to create these safe spaces in your own home. Kyunki baat karne se hi baat banegi 🤗
