Shenae Grimes-Beech Instagram – 🙄🙄🙄 I’m pretty bored of defending getting paid for the time, creativity, skill and effort content creators put into providing free entertainment for people in my DMs so I thought it’d be easier to just pop my thoughts on the feed for future reference to anyone who chooses to continue to follow because they like the content I work hard to create for their free enjoyment but complain when I get paid by a company that does value what I do here in my tiny corner of the internet enough to compensate me for it. I know getting to do this for a living is an immense privilege that I do not take lightly or for granted for one solitary second, believe me. BUT in order for creators to keep creating content for you to consume daily, they do actually need to make a living from it. Last thing I’ll say is most creators won’t ever ask you for a penny in exchange for the value they provide to you in the form of content but you can support the content creators you love by clicking and remembering to use their codes when you shop because that simple, cost-free action is currency to the lovely brands that compensate us for our work so we can provide for our families. Let the hate comments commence, I guess but somebody had to say it 😝
