Sipiwe Moyo Instagram – @repjohnlewis put his physical body on the line so that I would have access to my right to vote. That’s all that I can think about as I mourn the loss of this great American (and fellow Alabamian!) That sacrifice is why I don’t play with my vote. It’s why I urge everyone to register and vote. And it’s why I’m publicly vocalizing that I’ll be voting for @joebiden . I know that seems like a given, but we can’t take anything for granted these days. I learned that lesson in 2016 when I didn’t really claim Hillary like that because all seemed promised. Nothing is promised. And, yes, I too wish it was 2008 again; I miss that “Yes We Can” high. But it’s not. It’s 2020 and our neighbors and family and friends are DYING behind the current failed leadership. Rest In Peace @repjohnlewis and thank you for being a beacon for justice and patriotism. And I look forward to casting my vote for @joebiden so that our country can begin to take steps towards healing — literally and figuratively ✊🏿🇺🇸✊🏿
