Sipiwe Moyo Instagram – I did this set a week before giving birth 4 yrs ago and I had such a blast. It’s hard to overcome the desire to be perfect. It’s hard to overcome the fear of no one laughing 🫣. It’s hard to overcome that voice that says “wtf are we doin’ up here, girl?” Doing stand up, I’ve had to just deal because I f*cking love it so much. I’ve LOVED making people laugh my whole life. I’m currently trying to muster the courage to get back onstage, but all the little scaredy voices keep nibbling away. So, I’m posting this badly lit, poor quality video in which the mic feeds back, a random person shouts out, and I completely lose track of what I’m talking about because it highlights what I love most about comedy: the realness, the rawness, the roughness, the unexpected, the connection, the human, the dark being made into light. I LOVE that…so what do you think, should I give it another try? .
