Tala Ashe Instagram – One of the things I love about acting is the excuse to dabble in skills decidedly different than my own. During the brilliant @monamansourplays The Vagrant Trilogy I was introduced to Palestinian embroidery, called tatreez. I started out wobbly, but eventually finished a larger piece with guidance and design from @themosaicrooms and the incredible artist @jordannassar I’m devastated by the horrors being inflicted on the men, women and children of Gaza and in my helplessness my hands found their way back to tatreez (and my cat found his way back to my lap). With @byjavad’s help, these little pieces have been elevated to a sort of ornament, pendant, or wall hanging of your choice. I’m raffling these pieces. All you need to do is 1) donate to @aneraorg , @thepcrf or @doctorswithoutborders 2) DM me the receipt 3) $5 will get you one entry (i.e. $20 = 4 entries) 4) I’ll do a drawing next week and pick winners at random.
