Like my own mum, Rose, you raised your children here, far away from your families and everything familiar to you.
What a brave thing to do.
Your resilience, sacrifice, courage and immense love has helped shape our first-generation Australians – and so much of what’s good in this country. Thank you.
Today I wish my wonderful mum, and all mums and mother figures out there, a very happy Mother’s Day.
