Tatiana Suarez Instagram – Eyes on the prize! Every time we step in the cage we have to prepare ourselves mentally to be locked in the cage with another person who wants to harm us. Yes, it’s a sport but it’s the most primal and violent sport. When I stepped in there I got acquainted with the cage and my surroundings. I walked out first so I had this time. I don’t remember her song because I was in my own zone. She walked into the cage and once she did we locked eyes and never stopped looking at each other. I knew she was game and had no fear but I was also ready and had no fear. The one thing that stood out in my mind is that I wanted it more! I worked too hard. I know she works hard too but I work harder. I know this and everyone around me knows it. I knew I was prepared not just physically but mentally. Everyone kept telling me to just be me. And they were right. By nature, I embrace these moments. Years and years of competition has given me this. I love stepping in there and learning more and more about myself. Not just the physical aspect but the mental aspect. I love it all. I’m so grateful for these moments. Im glad to be back. I missed being able to compete and express myself. It’s poetic that we fight on a canvas. I don’t care what Meryl Streep says it’s an art. A violent and technical art. I can’t wait to share these memories with my nieces, future children and the youth. Hopefully, I can share these experiences with them to help them in their journey to be great. #mma #wmma #ufc #motivation
