Taya Rogers Instagram – I’m not the mother I thought I’d be. Some days I’m not as patient, fun, empathetic, creative, or motivated as I thought I’d be. Not everything on the dinner plates are homemade, the toys aren’t all Montessori, screen time happens more often than intended, & some days I have to put myself in a time out. There isn’t a day that’s gone by where I haven’t crawled into bed thinking of how tired I am, how many things I planned to do but didn’t get around to, how many more things I need to do tomorrow, & how I wish (oh I wish!) there were more hours in a day. But there also hasn’t been a day where I haven’t felt entirely overwhelmed with gratitude & love for these tiny human beings and the fact that I get to be their mama. I get to hold their hands and make them giggle, I get to teach them how to scramble eggs and build a sandcastle. I get to read bedtime stories and have dance parties, I get to explain who what where when and why (some times what feels like 500 times a day 🫠🫣) and I get to be the one who they smile at every morning, who they cling to when the tears surface, & who they talk to about anything & everything (god I hope that never changes). So I’m not the mother I thought I’d be. But this isn’t the love I thought it would be either, it’s so so much more ❤️ Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas out there, no matter how or when or why 🫶🏽
