Noch gar nicht lange her und definitiv ein Win für Frauenrechte in Europa: Frankreich nimmt das Recht auf Abtreibung in ihre Verfassung auf. 👏🏼 Wieso ist das ein Win? 🧐⤵️ Erst 2020 wurden in Polen Abtreibungen verboten, 2022 kippte der Supreme Court in den USA „Roe v. Wade“ und damit auch das Recht auf Schwangerschaftsabbrüche. Das sind nur zwei Beispiele davon, dass reproduktive Rechte und besonders das Recht auf Schwangerschaftsabbruch oftmals zur Zielscheibe autoritärer Regierungen werden. Und damit wird Schwangeren nicht nur ihr Recht auf Selbstbestimmung über den eigenen Körper genommen, sondern auch ihre Sicherheit. Reproduktive Rechte sind Menschenrechte und müssen deshalb gegen restriktive Regime geschützt werden. Wir wollen, dass Frauen und Mädchen in der gesamten EU die gleichen Rechte haben und selbstbestimmt leben können. Deshalb ist es ein historischer Schritt, dass Frankreich diese Rechte in ihre Verfassung verankert und damit die klare Botschaft sendet: Your body, your choice! 🗣️

✊ “Everything is at stake in the EU Election”, @terry_reintke told @bloomberg . We are facing the risk that the whole European project may be put in question if there is a surge of the far-right. It also puts in question the future of the Green Deal.
