Valerie Bertinelli Instagram – A daisy from my garden. I love its simplicity. 🤍 Daisies bloom in the spring announcing new beginnings. They represent purity, patience, and joy. They were my mom‘s favorite flower and I had them planted in my garden to remind me of her. Our relationship had no such simplicity. In the year before she died, I did my best to start a new beginning with her. One with purity of heart and patience and I did my best to bring her some joy. I succeeded and failed in many ways. My relationship with my mom was complicated and that’s okay. I know she did her best with what she knew and what was modeled for her. I’m learning to do my best with what I know and uncover about myself. That’s the funny thing about healing, the more you dig in that garden, the more you discover. Anyway, all of this to say, if you’ve had a challenging relationship with your mother or you miss your mother because she’s gone, or if you yourself are a mother, a cat mom, a dog mom, a boy mom, a girl mom, a stepmom, or most importantly, a mom to yourself, I hope you have a beautiful day and you take really good care of yourself.
