Yael Stone Instagram – The Australian Climate Case was initiated by Uncle Pabai and Uncle Paul, Guda Maluyligal Traditional Owners from the Torres Strait islands of Boigu and Saibai.

They argue that the Australian Federal Government’s failure to adequately address climate change constitutes negligence and a breach of duty of care towards their communities in the Torres Strait.

Australia’s response to climate change is one of the weakest in the world. If the Federal government doesn’t change course, then islands in the Torres Strait will go underwater.
