Alain Robert Instagram – Framatome is mostelikely the hardest and most dangerous urban ascent I have done . it took me five years deciding wether I was going to do it or not and on the day snd after 30m I have had a bad feeling that it was not going to work and I have decided to climb down but after less than one meter I have understand that I couldn’t. I had to fully refocus on to a fighter and I have decided that no matter I was going to make it alive and I have put all my strength into the battle . it was no longer a battle for a target but to live . I have encountered halfway through a major obstacle as the Crack was narrowing to a point that I nearly couldn’t any longer jaming the tip of my foot but I finally made it and after a battle that roughly last 45mn I was standing at the top of what im still considering as the hardest building I have ever climbed freesolo . it was in 1998 . On my specific scale of difficulties from 1 to 10 that I have created only for buildings its a 10 as if using the grade as we are using on rocks it would be be 8a . Once again it’s only a suggestion . Recently Adam Ondra has climbed a building top rope in Prague and it would be 8c/8c . There again it’s in my opinion difficult to use the same system as on rocks as so different as climbing a building is only repetitive and it is more an effort that is claiming a very good indurance for the hard ones .
