It is so wonderful to be back here. I don’t know if I have ever been to Japan in the winter, and the sleek beauty of Tokyo is only enhanced by the Mystic atmosphere of a snowfall.
The schedule of the Eras tour is such that every few months we have a break to go home and re-enter civilian life and reflect briefly on the wild experience that is taking this amazing music all over the world. I don’t take it for granted that I get to look down and see so many different joyful faces every night that I go to work.
The folks that I get to ride this river with- some of the flat out best musicians and most wonderful people.
And all this, after an absolutely astounding night for Taylor at the Grammys. And sometimes, when you reach the top of the mountain, you decide to go ahead and build a mountain of your own on top of it. I am inspired by her creativity, ambition, discipline, and kindness daily.
Also, it needs to be mentioned that spending more time with his absolutely astounding @mikelullcustomguitars for is only revealing more of its balanced excellence.
Thinking always of my absolutely amazing wife @karahheller whose strength, foresight and rock solid love allows me to have it both ways: I get to tour this beautiful world and see your amazing faces, and come home to healthy. Happy and well loved kids. I miss you so much. You were right about taking this gig. 🙂
