On 14 May, we’re performing a live reading of @tectonictheaterproject’s landmark play The Laramie Project for its 25th anniversary. It’s the true story of the aftermath following the 1998 murder of 21-year-old Matthew Shepard, that catalysed revolutionary LGBTQIA legislative change in America.
We’re beyond honoured that Matthew’s father Dennis will be joining us on stage, delivering his powerful courtroom speech from the 1999 trial.
Thrilled to be part of this alongside queer legends I admire so much – @aldonzamudd and @caseydonovan88 – and my boos @nicholasbrowntown, @z.okenyo and director @deanjbryant.
All proceeds will go towards the Matthew Shepard Foundation and the new American Australian Association Playwriting Scholarship.
