AOC gets it. She sees that fear is dividing us. We can address income inequality. We can address climate change, if we get together and get to work. SXSW

Happy Spring Equinox from the set of my pal @kalpenn‘s new show Sunnyside. Los Angeles, California
Break out your eclipse glasses, people. You can see sunspots today. It’s a storm on the Sun’s surface that may knock out electricity for some of us, but may also bring the Northern Lights pretty far south. Watch the skies!
Just completed a presentation at SXSW. People love space exploration.
We are so fortunate. Science rules.
Today we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Space Shuttle’s first launch – 12 April, 1981. The Space Shuttle had never launched with or without a crew when astronauts John Young and Bob Crippen climbed aboard Columbia on 40 years ago today. Their bold, two-day test flight made history and ushered in NASA’s 30-year shuttle era. 📸: @nasa
Happy Mother’s Day to all

When @jennifercoolidge talked about pronouncing Nighy last night, it was not about I. But a few years ago, that Nighy assured this Nye that both of our names rhyme with “guy.”
51 years ago, on April 22nd, 1970, we celebrated the very first #EarthDay. I was there. I rode my bicycle and locked it to a flagpole at the Washington Monument. I wore a sign that read “Pedals Don’t Pollute.” I rendered the “o” in Pollute as the original Earth symbol from that early era. It’s a fond memory. Even if I wasn’t as cool and thoughtful as I hoped to appear, the first Earth Day’s message was good then, and it’s even better (and more important) today: We have to take care of the Earth.
How do we do that? Well, recycling plastic bottles is good. Driving an efficient car is good. Taking public transportation is good. But those things alone are not going to cut it. We need big ideas. We need to make huge changes. So here’s what everyone could do… TALK about climate change. If we were talking about climate change the way we talk about mask wearing or racism, which are important issues, very important— but so is climate. If we’re taking about it, we’d be getting ‘er done. So everyone, vote. Please vote. Take the environment into account in everything you do. We want clean water. Renewably produced electricity, and, access to the Internet for everyone on Earth. We can do this people. If we work together – we can change the world. Let’s go!
Honored to see my lab coat from the Science Guy show in @amhistorymuseum’s new exhibit #EntertainmentNation. Let’s check it out! National Museum of American History
@billnye the Science Guy shares his experience witnessing the solar eclipse totality from Fredericksburg, Texas — highlighting to @NorahODonnell on what makes this rare celestial event so remarkable.
