Bobby Chinn Instagram – When The Beat Asia attended Chef Bobby Chinn’s Egyptian Food Festival in Hong Kong, we knew we were partaking in a culinary expedition of epic proportions. Organized in partnership with The Consulate General of Egypt in Hong Kong and the Silver Oak Group, the event offered a five-course tasting menu that was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish, ranging from Grapes Wrapped with Goat Cheese Encrusted with Pistachios to Foie Gras Terrine with Fresh Figs, was an ode to Egypt’s rich culinary landscape. We also opted for the wine pairing, elevating the gastronomic experience to another level.
The highlight, however, was the exclusive cooking class hosted by Chef Bobby himself on September 16. In a brief yet intensive session, we got hands-on experience making his signature starter of grapes, cheese, and pistachios, and learned the basics of preparing a traditional stuffed pigeon dish. The class was an intimate, enriching venture into the depth of Egyptian cuisine, all under the guidance of a master.
