One of my most favourite moments in Cannes was when I got taken on a tour of the @dpa_lounges at the Marriot where I met some incredible entrepreneurs and artisans. A truly memorable part of it was experiencing the @hinomoto.org369 a group of artists and artisans from Japan. I got to meet @hidehiranezukei a swordsmith from Japan who makes traditional Samurai swords. I was told that when he makes them, he instills a spirit into the sword giving it a life of its own, so when you hold the sword, you feel its spirit/presence and can even engage with it. Sounds very esoteric but it’s true. When I held that sword, I closed my eyes and felt like I was standing in the presence of a gentle but powerful giant. They reassured me that that was probably the spirit of the sword. @mandlakayise_dube went through the day before and I remember how he kept saying how deep the experience was. And it really was.
