Brita Filter Instagram – I was honored to be the first drag queen speaker at the Annual DNC LGBTQ Gala in NYC. I shared the stage with Vice President @kamalaharris, Governor @whitmermi, Rep. @zoandbehold, HRC President @kelleyjrobinson, @rosariodawson, and DNC chair @harrisonjaime.
I was so nervous on this day because I representing all drag artists from around the country by being there. I spoke in front of a room of the most powerful, influential Democrats. If you watch my speech (the following post), you’ll see me get very nervous, then make my signature move (a pivot turn with arms) to regain my confidence. I’m proud of myself for overcoming my fears that day because my voice matters!
