Ceallach Spellman Instagram – Friends, there is an urban sky garden coming to an iconic Viaduct in Manchester and I for one am very excited.
Bringing the natural world back into our cities as much we can is of paramount importance. Extraordinary projects like this are essential in helping wildlife and plants to thrive, while also re-connecting us to nature.
This viaduct was once an unused industrial space in the centre of the city, connecting numerous parts of Manchester City centre. It has now been transformed by @nationaltrust into a beautiful sky garden – a healthy habitat for animals and insects to visit and for people to escape to a little green oasis too 🌱
In partnership with @bbcearth #OurGreenPlanet, join me on a tour around the new space, where I was lucky enough to lay down some plants and learn how this community based project is transforming the urban environment for good. I’m a proud Mancunian right now and can’t wait to get back and enjoy the bridge when it’s finished!
