Sadly, our precious pollinators are in serious decline in the UK & have been for years. A major factor in this is the continued use of the pesticide ‘Thiamethoxam’, a highly damaging neonicotinoid.
This pesticide was banned in 2018 but our government has approved emergency authorisation for the use of this lethal bee killing pesticide for a 4th year in a row. This harmful chemical can also be found in more than 10% of our rivers. Another empty, hollow commitment from the powers that bee. No surprise at the total lack of protection & appreciation for our beautiful bees & bumble bees and the vital role they play across our ecosystem.
We must use our voice to demand the end of using this poison and try do all we can to stop the unnecessary decline of our bee populations, instead helping their numbers to grow and blossom.
