Daniel Wu Instagram – Not the race we wanted to run. The radio never worked in the car so I had no communication with the team. Had to rely on old school methods to know when to pit in (our engineer Jim waving his hands wildly). And then about 20 laps in the brakes started to fade. I kept pumping them to gets some pressure back but by the time I came in for a pit stop the pedal was hitting the floor. Taz took one lap and it was too dangerous. The team bled the brakes but that only lasted 2-3 laps and we had to retire with 7 minutes left in the race. Even with the DNF we placed 11th but that was an incomplete race. The good thing is I grew and improved as a driver. I made some bold passes and got up to 5th place at one point but we couldn’t overcome the technical issues in the end. Next race is in September, 3 months for now so the team has plenty of time to work out the gremlins. Onwards and upwards!
