Daylon Swearingen Instagram – Last January I joined @sta18poppa in New York for PBR and while I was at an after-party with all of the VIPs, I wound up talking to the sweetest, kindest, and most humble #cowboy I had ever met.

It’s not the young man in the photo, but his grandfather. His #grandfather shared with me that he and his family lived in Piffard, New York on some acreage. He shared with me that he had recently lost his wife and what a challenge it had been for him to go on after being together for so many years. He was gentle and so loving in the way he spoke of his late wife and how important his family was to him.

In true #cowboy fashion wearing a cowboy hat and all, I asked him where he got the amazing green claw Monster bolo tie he was wearing, and his smile said it all and how proud he was of his #grandson @daylon_swearingen. I didn’t know Daylon at the time, his PBR standings, or past championships, but I had just met and now knew the man he called “grandpa”. And ever since then, Daylon has been my favorite #PBR bull rider.

Daylon, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree… you’re just as amazing, kind, and generous as your grandpa. 😉
