According to her account, Wesley had been playing outside on the front porch while she went inside to prepare some food. When she returned just five minutes later, Wesley was gone. Authorities immediately launched a widespread search, initially believing Wesley might have wandered into the woods. However, as days passed without any sign of the toddler, authorities began to theorize that he had been sold in an illegal adoption, kidnapped or even murdered. Despite a thorough investigation, no trace of Wesley has ever been discovered. It’s been more than 22 years since Wesley went missing, and investigators are still searching for him.
