In the early morning hours of May 25, 2013, Jason Ellis, a 33-year-old police officer, finished his shift for the Bardstown Police Department and headed home in his cruiser. During the drive, Jason encountered a pile of limbs blocking the road. He turned on his police lights, parked his car diagonally to block the road, and stepped out to clear the limbs so no one would get hurt. As he bent down to pick up the debris, a gunman shot him multiple times. Jason died at the scene, and was later found by passing motorists. It’s been almost 11 years since Officer Jason Ellis was killed, and investigators are still searching for the people responsible…
