Dulé Hill Instagram – chicago is a magnificent city. not just the architecture or midwestern charm, but how art and activism lock arms here. how they fuse in a tonic that boosts each others’ effect. and that artivism has range: the andre theatre collective producing incarcerated writers’ play scripts on the outside w/ toussaint daniels, james warren @andremuir @joeypurps, etc; a black female-owned company innovating afro-contemporary dance to amplify its diasporic roots @redclaydance @theartivistvsw; and a syrian-american singer helping syrian war refugees through soul and funk music @basselmusic. the original conceit of the #ExpressWayPBS was always to seek out and understand artists using their craft in high stakes ways. and these chicagoans check off that box and then some. thank you all for doing you ✊✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻 | Posted on 15/May/2024 23:16:44
