Many people have asked how we got the babies to cry on cue in this scene. As a parent of a child actor, it is important to read the scene and what the child will be doing ahead of time so you can prepare. Example: if the scene has the child playing at the park, nap them ahead of time. If the child is napping in the scene, hold off on napping them until the camera is rolling, etc.
The name of this scene was “Fussy Babies” so I knew immediately that they wanted the babies to cry. I held off on giving them their bottle, shot the scene and then fed them!
