To make the cable, that is essentially turned into zip line, a specific thin walled Bamboo ((the Yunnan has the highest bamboo diversity in the world) every species with hundreds of specific uses)) is split into long thin straps and spliced into a stiff hard cable that can hold hundreds of pounds. It is slick and allows for a hard wood block to slide over the cable as brave souls traverse to the other side.
I learned about the many uses of Bamboo at a young age and for the rest of my life I have been fascinated by this amazing group.
