Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!
I had the immense pleasure of being in the presence of Dr. Ibram X. Kendi. As if that experience wasn’t amazing enough, he hung out afterwards and I got to meet him!

During the conversation last night, he spoke on how books are a great way to have the difficult conversations with young people. I could not agree more. Naturally, I had to create a #FridayFive with an @ibramxk theme. How could I not?

He spoke extensively about this culture of book banning. One potent takeaway for me was when he said that the original book banners were enslavers. That hit different.
The event was centered around his newest book, Barracoon, which I will share more on later! ✌🏾
