Jaboukie Young-White Instagram – slide 1: the plan worked. three years after starting as a dishwasher at Soho House Omaha, I had finally infiltrated the upper echelons of the Omaha, Nebraska ranching community. a fateful poker night lead me to my final target. Bled Johnry was land baron, a God fearing republican, and based on the song last playing when he started his 2024 GMC Sierra 2500 to give me a ride home from poker night, a Lana Del Rey stan. slide 2: It was my fault. I got sloppy. I spent too much energy keeping up a convincing cover. I dedicated an entire weekend to finding a turquoise bolo tie for Rip Himschel Jr.’s first born’s baptism. I spent a week learning to break a mare. Had I not wasted all those nights going backroad mudding, I would’ve known Bled’s son was due home from a three week jail stay for his 10th DUI. I’ll never forget Bled’s son, Bleed, wordlessly backing out of the room, as Bled backed out of me. Bleed knew better than to challenge Bled to his face. Instead he gossiped to anyone who would listen. The coroner ruled Bled’s death a “hunting accident”. Bleed had Rip’s charges dropped. Rip’s wife, Silverado, divorced him anyway. The charges didn’t stick, but the rumors of Rip and Bled’s longstanding friendship did. A month shy of the day Bled planned to sell his shares and unwittingly blow up his company, Bleed Johnry became CEO. Slide 3: Now I live and work in New York City as lawyer, after getting my start settling dish & chore related civil disputes between LGBTQ roommates. I worked my way up to environmental law. I’m preparing for my first big case. We’re going to Bleed them dry.
