Jeremy Wray Instagram – So, in between assembling a bbq, raising a new puppy, taking care of the kiddos and coming up with meals for us all to eat, I chipped away at a scratchboard version of my Water Tower ollie that Dan Sturt shot. It’s for an upcoming project and more details about it will be revealed in the near future, but for now take a sneak peek at a style of artwork that although I’ve known how to do for years, I rarely set aside the time to make new ones. I’ve always enjoyed them and they come out looking so different than if you had sat down and drawn the same image with a pen and paper. It’s good to try different tools or mediums sometimes to get inspired. I’m pretty happy with how this one came out. I am going to try out another version soon in a slightly different line style just to see which one I like better in the end. I have a feeling this looser more freehanded style might be the way I’ll do these in the future. Any tighter and I might lose that man made feel that I see in this one.
