Joseph Lee Instagram – ‘Same differences’
A personal acknowledgment to my father who passed away a few years ago. He left me and my mother when was I young. Towards the end of his life, we were able to reconnect in a small way. He knew that he didn’t have much time left and slowly began to reassess his life choices. Being a man of his generation, vulnerability was as foreign as another language. Yet, he did apologize. He would say ‘조야…I’m sorry’ right before we got off the phone. It was his way of saying ‘I love you.’ He didn’t know any other way to say it. And I know that now. It’s all the same difference.
