Justin Roberts Instagram – I didn’t announce @stinger last night, WE announced..nearly 17,000 of us @aew Revolution for his SPECTACULAR final match in his one of a kind career.
Wrestling is my escape from the everyday and last night, it also felt like a trip back to my childhood. My first live WCW show was Spring Stampede in 1994. I begged @therealdannybonaduce for backstage passes, played Sting’s theme song on my teeth and Danny made my wish come true. At 14, I roamed freely and met everyone that walked by. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, @ricflairnatureboy , @dustinrhodestx , Mean Gene, etc. @diamonddallaspage took on @marcmero , @realmickfoley and Maxx Payne took on the Nasty Boys, Flair wrestled Steamboat and Rick Rude defended his title against Sting.
Last night in Greensboro, 30 years later..I found myself again roaming freely among those legends I grew up admiring. Sting, Flair, Steamboat, DDP, @nikitakoloff1 , Magnum TA, Arn Anderson, @jakethesnakeddt , @jimrossbbq , @tonyschiavone24 and more for a Slamboree-like reunion on what might have been the greatest event in AEW history, to celebrate Sting. What a bonus to actually get to be a small part of it this time around. (What is life?! Follow your dreams, everything is possible.)
In addition to Sting’s final match, the entire roster was able to showcase what they can do and blow away the @gbocoliseum crowd. @mr_mansury and the production crew hit another home run with the dynamic effects that were visible all night. @shutupexcalibur @officialtaz13 and all of our commentators added the soundtrack and gave us a night we will never forget..ALL moving parts courtesy of @tonyrkhan #ThankYouTony #ThankYouSting #ThankYouGreensboro #AEWRevolution CATCH THE REPLAY ON @bleacherreport
