The Memorial will tell our Singapore Story, honouring the founding leaders of Singapore, including Mr Lee Kuan Yew and his core team, as well as other important leaders in the public, private and people sectors in our first two decades of nation building (1950s-1970s).
Our pioneers overcame the odds to build a strong, united, and independent Singapore, established fundamental values and ideals that set the long-term direction of our nation, and brought Singapore from Third World to First.
When ready in 2028, the Memorial will face the Marina Bay skyline and the metropolis beyond that is home to 3.5 million Singaporeans. Here Singaporeans can reflect on our ongoing nation-building journey and appreciate our precious inheritance from the founding generation, as we continue building a harmonious and successful Singapore as one united people, for generations to come. 🇸🇬– LHL
